Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

So, today my hubby and I are snuggled up in our little apartment watching the snow fall. It was a supposed to be less than six inches....well, the Weather Channel just upped it to 6 to 10 inches of snow. It's really pretty but I'm not looking forward to having to go out in this weather. It's super early to have this kind of weather but I guess it's just an indicator of what kind of winter we're going to have.
My little kindergartners have been keeping me super super busy. They are such little darlings and are making great progress. I've been really pleased with the things that they are learning and trying to do but I still feel like we have a ways to go! This past week, we had the Bishop over our Diocese come and visit our school. My grade partner and I made a cute little poster and had all our little ones write their names on it. They were so excited to make this poster for him, and to meet him. It really helped them to take ownership of meeting the Bishop.
We have been busy working on lots of learning themes: Columbus/explorers, pumpkins, fall leaves, are a FEW pictures to look through. I have been so busy in the classroom that I have been so forgetful about taking pictures. Definitely a goal---take more pictures. It's challenging because we are not allowed to take pictures of the kids, so I try to get pictures of their work or things that we are going to do!
This past week was my birthday! :) It was a fun day! My hubby surprised me with a super sweet card and I got flowers at school from my parents! Lots of my little kids brought me sweet little gifts, and my wonderful teaching assistant and grade partner also gave me pretty birthday gifts. My in laws got me a beautiful new Bible (engraved with my new name on it), and my parents got me the Willow Tree Nativity Set, a cook book, and a cute maternity outfit. Hubby spoiled me too! :)
Monday, we our most recent ultrasound appointment! Found out that we are 19 and 1/2 weeks (well, on Monday we were). Baby is 10 ounces, and very very healthy! The baby was tumbling throughout the entire ultrasound appointment. All of the baby's organs are healthy, functioning, and present. All of their bones were there, and everything is working great. The baby's little mouth was moving throughout the entire thing, and it was so cute. The technician could tell the gender, but since we have decided to wait and be surprised, we didn't find out. :) But, in case you like ultrasound pictures, here are a few. She took about 20 but give us these ones!

Friday was our Halloween Treat Day at school. Basically, it's an insane day where the kids come dressed in their Halloween costumes. We have a big costume parade, the teachers put on a story play for the kids, and the classroom parents give each classroom a party. This year, the play was Toy Story. I did not participate in the play this year.... have for the last couple years so I took a year off. The teachers did a great job! It was hysterical! The parents all come and watch, too. It was just the right length, and the my kindergartners really enjoyed it. My classroom parents did a great job with the party for my kids, and the schoolwide parents put on a lovely luncheon for all of us teachers. So much yummy food! This year, I was a black cat for Halloween! :) And you can definitely see the baby bump! :) After the lunch party, a few of my kids headed home with their parents, and the rest of us watched a movie together. My kids were EXHAUSTED. The parents looked exhausted after the lunch party--and a couple commented that they can't imagine how we do this all day every day. It never fails that the parents say that.... lol.
Hope yall are enjoying the weekend. I'm enjoying the beautiful snow! Stay warm this weekend! :)

  1. Hello!

My name is Missy Kennedy and I teach third grade. I am part of the postcard exchange and wanted to let you know about my class.

Our school is Parkview Baptist School and is located in Baton Rouge, the capitol of Louisiana. We are celebrating our 30th birthday this year and are the largest private school (non-parochial) in the state.

We are excited about getting to know more about your class. I have a postcard exchange page on my blog and hope you visit. We have some questions for you to answer listed on that page. I will post as I receive postcards.

Looking forward to meeting you and your class,
